 It looks like Yahoo is feeling the heat of Gmail. In response, it is preparing to roll out a rather impressive looking update to Yahoo! mail.
I have to say, the interface looks impressive. It is the closest I have ever seen webmail come to an actual email client. That being said, I just hope it has support for the Mac. So many of these types of sites have been developed using Windows based technologies. I can only hope that Yahoo will be intelligent enough to stick to open standards.

I can only hope that Google does something similar with Gmail. Alas, that seems unlikely. Google always likes to do things their own way. And, while simplicity is nice, Google has never been known for cutting edge web design.
