 Google Talk was announced this morning. Unfortunately, there is no Mac software client. Upset that Google would shun the Mac community? Don't be. Google didn't make a Mac client because the OS already ships with a client that supports Google Talk... iChat!
Why reinvent the wheel when Apple has already done a great job! Since the latest version of iChat supports Jabber, an open standard service available on all platforms, there was simply no need for Google to right their own client. Simply sign up for a Gmail account and set your preferences in iChat. It's that easy!
