Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How soon will you release the final DVD?

A: It depends entirely on how quickly we collect video contributions. We edit the video as it is submitted. As soon as we have enough content to release the DVD, we will release it.

Q: Can you let me know when you release the final DVD?

A: Absolutely! Just add your email address to our DVD Release list. We will keep you up to date on the progress we are making, and we send an alert when we have a final release date.

Q: If I send you my video, will my name appear in the final video?

A: Due to the nature of this content and the fact that much of it is dangerous or possibly not entirely legal, we encourage those submitting their video to use an alias rather than their real name. We are more than happy to give you or your club credit for your work, but we caution against use of real names.

If you are responsible for submitting the video to Maclive, we do require a legitimate name and email address. We only use this information to contact you if we have any questions prior to using your footage. We also use this information to distinguish one submission from the next.

Q: Will you be releasing additional web versions of your video prior to releasing the DVD?

A: This is very likely. We value feedback and constructive criticism. It makes it much easier to improve the quality of our work!

Q: I have shot a motorcycle video that depicts animal cruelty, destruction of public property, and satanic ritual. Are you interested in my video?

A: No. We don't want to be involved in any of these things... at least on tape.

Q: Is the supposed project part of a Law Enforcement Sting to crack down on riders?

A: Absolutely not. We are not affiliated with any law enforcement agency. But we do encourage safety and use of good judgment when participating in motorsports. Odds are, if you think you are doing something that could land your ass in jail, you simply shouldn’t do it. Like you, we just do this to have a good time.

Q: If I submit my footage to you, will it be returned to me?

A: It is unlikely that we will be able to return your footage to you. This is only due to the number of submissions we think we will receive. If it is critical that your footage be returned to you when we are finished, please email motorsport@maclive.net to make special arrangements.

Q: If I want to submit my video footage, what formats do you accept?

A: We can accept video footage in several different formats. We prefer Mini-DV tape. It is the highest quality and easiest to work with and will save us a great deal of time. We also accept Hi-8 tapes, as well as standard VHS (if anyone still uses this). Due to the quality of VHS, we put it at the bottom of our list.

If you have content that you already have digitized and prefer to submit it on disc, we can accept this as well. We require that it be in DV or DV-Pro format (29.97 fps at 720x480 resolution). Remember, the higher quality the footage you send us, the better it will look in the end.

Q: I want to submit my video. How do I do it?

A: Make sure your video fits the stated submission formats and send it to 8605 Ramble Rd. Wonder Lake, IL 60097. Please include a contact name, phone number, and email address. If we have any questions about your submission, we will need a way to contact you.

If you have any questions prior to submitting your tape, please email motorsport@maclive.net.
